Chatham

Rain threatened on the VERY LONG drive into Chatham, but by the time we all got there, the weather was clearing nicely. Our bass drum had an extra long trip but it survived its little vacation in Kincardine! We played our march medley for the second time at a Championship Supreme Games this year and improved our performance and we were please to hear Black Water got Third Place!

For the last time, the drum was stollen, not lost. Congrats to the band for a fantastic outing at Chatham and special thanks to Welland and the drum section for our best showing yet. If there is a god(and I'm sure there is) we may just find that kind of judging for Maxville. Sorry I won't be there for you at the Tattoo, but good luck and enjoy yourself as only we could in Kincardine.

See you in Maxville!
Your hero,
Greg

Ahhhh...a weekend off! I hope everybody enjoyed themselves. I can't believe that Chatham was just 10 days ago! Again, I would like to express my graditude to everyone who attended (it's nice to see Kenny & Russell back in the ranks!) and to the families and friends who were in attendance.Once agin our friends from Guelph (the Guelph Pipe Band) edged us out of a higher placing (2nd),and congrads to the 'newbies' of the top position the Halton Regional Police Pipe Band (1st)[If this is going to be the trend of the "BIG" games, Maxville is really anybody's game!].Well guys, there are only two more games to go this season (Maxville & Fergus), and hopefully we'll continue in this fashion to the end of the season ( I'm crossing my fingers!).
Keep up the good work!!!

*Rumour has it:
i)that we're the 5:1 favourites in Maxville.
ii)that my 'MacDonald' relatives in Glengarry will be welcoming 'Campbell's' into their houses.
iii) that our bass drummer will actually "PLAY" with the band...at Maxville...on the field...in competition![Really, I'm not kidding...this is REALLY TRUE!]

Not only will I play, but I'll make sure the drum doesn't make a hasty exit this time as well. Make sure you gimme lots o' room this time troops, cause i'm gonna do some break dancin' if that is what it is going to take to get us the "North America's cup"(could you imagine the fat guy doin the worm?).

Thanks in advance to your folks Dave, I hope they really know what they are gettin' themselve's into here.

The guy that stole your drum also stole a uniform! I saw him at the Durham games with both...he may have been a Scot, but I'm not so sure he was a drummer!
