Kincardine Woo Hoo

Hurray. We got 2nd in Kincardine last Saturday! The rain held off all day and we played one of our best performances of the Medley ever. Kincardine is a wonderful town, and one of the best games of the Summer. If you want to enjoy a really good Highland Games, go to Kincardine.

One of the best things about this particular games is that all the bands in every grade play in the same circle, so the audience gets a really good show. And the Kincardine audience is definitely the most enthusiastic crowd going!

An extra special thanks goes out to our gracious hosts who let us use their backyard and even fed us! Thank you very much. We hope to see you again next year!

Thanks again James! I believe everybody enjoyed the day. You couldn't trade a crowd response like that for anything! I would also like to thank the rest of the band members, their families and the other bands, mostly the "MacNaughton Highlander's" (1st place) and the "Guelph Pipe Band" (3rd place, 1st in drumming) for a great competition. Hope to see everybody in Chatham. Keep up the good work!

Blackwater SMOKIN'''
You folks were hot, no the word is smokin'
I was in the stands in Kincardine and believe it or not you got a bigger roar than the hometown band.
The people around here know their music and truly appreciate a band who enjoys playing the music. It shows and you guys let it all hang out.
There is no doubt that the bottom end of your band was the hit of the games. So much so that the gremlins took that same drum and left it in my office. Amazing how this seems to have worked out. You may have found another snare out of this little gremlin mishap. I also have another little surprise for you too. See you in Chatham. SMOKE ON Blackwater!!

I just had to look your band up and tell you what a fantastic performance you put on in Kincardine. We drove up from the Detroit area in Michigan, and what a treat it was to see you guys do your stuff. Up until your turn came, I liked the MacNaughton Highlanders best, but I thought you blew them away in sheer energy and musical power. We just loved your Big Bass Drummer...what an attitude he put into his drumming! Our 7 and 10 yr old were enthralled, as were we ourselves. We'll be looking to see you again, either in Kincardine next year, or if you make it somewhere closer to our end of town before then.

Hello:
Caught your outstanding performance at Kincardine on the 5th. Truly wonderful. I'm a new piper (at are 64) and the performance was truly inspirational. Should have been first place.I'll be looking forward to seeing you again soon.
