Rain Rain Go Away

So apparently the only miserable weather in all of Ontario on the weekend was in Fort Erie. It rained, then it rained again. And a little while later it rained some more! Elsewhere, sunny, +25degrees Celsius, cool breeze... And awful weather means dying reeds, weezy drones, and smelly wet wool. Yuck! However, despite these difficulties, Black Water pulled off a 5th place prize (out of 15). Yippee!

Georgetown

Congratulations Black Water! Despite a few brain dead moments and failing pipes, we pulled off a 3rd place win against 13 competitor bands in Grade IV. Of course, it would have to be the first truly muggy/sunny day of the year. I hope everybody wore sunscreen! Now it's off to Fort Erie to wow them with our March Medley!

Parades, White Socks and Sunny Days

We've had two successful parades in the past two weeks. The St. John of Norway parade for the veterans went off without a hitch, and we got to show off our spiffy new white socks! The Guildwood parade was a success too, and the socks are still pretty clean. And amazingly, one piper even managed to make some extra dough at a nearby wedding after a last minute cancellation!
